Bi-Weekly Build Challenge, Week 102: A Dream Cottage... For A Witch!!

When you think of a witch's home, what sort of images does your mind conjure? Perhaps you imagine one surrounded by gnarled & twisted trees, with a bridged entrance crossing a mystical moat! Or something outlandish and surreal, like a house made of gingerbread, or is it more like a dimly lit, stone-walled, chilly abode secluded in the countryside? Witch houses and cottages are known to be purposefully bizarre. Often we think of spooky Victorian houses, houses made of candy, and cabins on the hill as witches houses. But some witches lived in castles or even caves! This weeks challenge is to build a dream cottage, cave, or castle, designed for a witch. The furniture should be primitive, and there MUST be a working fireplace, or a stove, in EVERY room (except bathrooms or spaces too small for one) -- plus plenty of storage for potions and drying herbs straight from the garden! It is also required that your witches abode be lit only by candlelight (NO ELECTRIC LAMPS/LIGHTING FIXTURES). Now close your eyes, if you dare, and listen for the hooting of the owls in the trees and the crackle of the roaring fire.

    Key Elements:

    • Pitched/pointed roofs.

    • Walls that appear sloped or slanted (as if they could collapse at any moment).

    • Wooden shutters and/or other exterior decor, sometimes hung at odd angles.

Residential properties ONLY. Must be fully functional. (TIP: Consider using cheats to unlock debug/hidden items and to place objects more freely!)

NOTE: Challenges are open for TWO weeks!

Has anyone stopped watching Deligracy recently?

    Posted: 01 Nov 2020 02:16 PM PST

I used to love her videos a couple of years ago, weirdly she seemed more grown up than she is now. I also get frustrated watching her videos because she comes across as ignorant, baffled by some pretty basic stuff, especially when the new pack comes out. I often wonder how does a Sims youtuber know so little about the game. I'm also really not a fan of the clickbaity thumbnails and juvenile reactions. Anyone else feel that way? I'm just disappointed that her channel changed that much.

people creating negative threads about content creators makes me sad

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 12:03 AM PST

let me preface this by saying that in no way am i telling other people what they can or can't do, or what they can or can't believe. everyone is entitled to say what they want and have their own opinion, and constructive criticism is always a good thing!

i just wanted to say that sometimes, reading negative threads about content creators makes me feel really bad for them. threads like "oh x creator's voice is sooo annoying" or "i can't stand ____'s streams they're so obnoxious" often lead to more bashing of creators. i get the annoyance surrounding clickbait thumbnails and faces, it's too much to see when it's constantly on your feed. but a lot of these content creators read this reddit, and i can't imagine how much it would suck to go online one day and read an entire thread of people critiquing you and your content, especially when its about things like your personality or voice that you can't easily change. they already have to deal with internet trolls and mean comments, and yes, this is part of the job, but it still hurts.

(and no, i swear i am not some content creator in disguise. if i was i'd have more than just base game and two packs)
