Certain challenges will have a monetary limit, some will be spend as much as you like/can to impress.

We try to make it so everyone can participate in all challenges no matter which Sims game you have and which expansion/stuff packs you have.

Bi-Weekly Build Challenge, Week 89: Retro Diners & Dives!

Give your Sims a taste of the past! When it comes to American cuisine, there really is nothing finer than a diner – especially a retro one! Diners serve as a solid place to grab fries with friends at any time of day or night, a spot that holds no judgment as to whether or not you're choosing to eat breakfast for dinner, or if dinner really just is your breakfast. Where life feels like the very sitcom version of itself in the best way. The USA is filled with colorful, vintage joints with counters and booths, taking customers back to the 1950s and before, when diners were at their peak. Some of the earliest were converted rail cars, retaining their streamlined structure and interior fittings. From the 1920s to the 1940s, diners, also known as "lunch cars", were usually prefabricated in factories, like modern mobile homes. As a result, many early diners were typically small and narrow in order to fit onto a rail car or truck and to be fitted onto tiny, inexpensive lots.

    Key Elements:

    • Small, narrow, free-standing restaurants.

    • Colorful and dated decoration.

    • Booths served by a waitstaff and a long sit-down counter with direct service.

    • Stainless steel siding—a feature unique to diner architecture.

Must be commercial (NO apartments!), and fully functional. (TIP: Consider using cheats to unlock debug/hidden items and to place objects more freely!)

NOTE: Challenges are open for TWO weeks!

    Can we talk about roofs?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 04:41 AM PST

Generally speaking, I love Sims 4. Everybody has their complaints, but overall I'm happy with it. Except for one thing: the fucking roofs.

Forget expanded elderly function, interactive school, more life states or whatever else is the popular "we really need this" for the week. The only thing I want is an autoroof tool.

I mean, really. Unless your house is a perfect, very boring, square or rectangle, it is almost impossible to get a roof on it that doesn't look like it had a seizure. And while the hexagonal, octagonal and round roofs are fantastic in theory... they don't actually rotate to angles that match up with diagonal walls. At all. So all you wind up doing is making a roof that sticks out three feet from the actual house and gives you solid grounds to sue your roofer for being drunk on the job.

Really. Autoroof. AUTOROOF. WHY is this not a thing yet.
